Salary : $54,288.00 - $70,595.20 Annually Location : Gainesville, GA Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 01017 Department: Convention and Visitors Bureau Opening Date: 02/06/2026 Closing Date: Continuous Summary Develops, plans, implements, manages, and evaluates activities, events and services for the Boathouse. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving and managing leads for potential rentals, sales and booking events with new and repeat clients. Provides pre-event, on-site and post event coordination and managing with clients throughout their event planning to ensure that the outside vendors and our clients understand and follow the facility policies, procedures and public safety guidelines. Will work side by side with Boathouse Senior Events Manager and other Lake Lanier Olympic Park Staff. Must be able to work normal week hours as well as nights and weekends as scheduled. Job Duties Oversees and coordinates physical requirements of activities, events, and entertainment with promoters and other groups utilizing the Boathouse. Generates and manages prospective client leads by promoting venue services, coordinating site visits, and facilitating tours. Works directly with individuals and organizations to plan rentals, programs, and future event requirements. Participates in weekly meetings with the necessary staff to review the upcoming week's and or months activities. Meetings are to discuss logistical details of each activity event, including estimated attendance, set-up, audio-visual requirements, food and beverage, turnover conflicts, parking, etc. Negotiates and prepares event and rental contracts and invoices, ensures timely execution and deposit collection, and works with Senior Event Manager to ensure events are invoiced and accounts settled post-event. Acts as liaison to third party vendors, volunteers, government and quasi-government entities, other businesses and community groups. Communicates directly with individuals and private organizations to schedule rentals, programs, etc. Assists other LLOP staff in the planning and implementation of Boathouse and Plaza rentals; to include correspondence with leads and potential events. Gathers required information and details, schedules and provides tours for potential clients, and coordinates other details including vendor deliveries/pick-ups and client set ups and event strikes. Assists the Convention and Visitor's Bureau (CVB) Sales and Marketing Manager in promoting Lake Lanier Olympic Park as a tourism destination. Efforts in promotion to include marketing, community engagement and outreach. Coordinates and oversees Boathouse staff, volunteers, security, clients, and vendors during event setup, and teardown to ensure successful facility rentals and programs. Monitors event requirements alongside other scheduled activities to minimize space, noise, and turnover conflicts Monitors equipment distribution to maintain accurate inventory for events and activities. Coordinates equipment rentals from external vendors as required by event contracts. Assist the CVB and Boathouse Senior Event Manager to provide support and direction for hospitality and accommodations needs for out-of-town groups utilizing the Lake Lanier Olympic Park and/or Boathouse facilities. Assures customer service quality and organizationally stability through development and implementation occurring after normal business hours. Coordinates with other departments, in the planning, organization and implementation of shared programs and facilities. Knowledge of the Boathouse A/V equipment. Performs special projects and duties as assigned. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Two year degree or at least three years of related experience and/or training that includes event planning, marketing, public speaking, and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must possess a strong customer service orientation Must be detailed oriented and have excellent customer service skills. General knowledge of the Boathouse and Tower A/V equipment. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional products preferred and ability to learn the planning and scheduling software being used by Lake Lanier Olympic Park. Ability to organize time, priorities and schedules and plan tasks, project plans and timelines with limited supervision. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to handle multiple priorities, problems and demanding situations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with local government officials, private sector organization representatives, customers, employees, and the public. Ability to use independent judgement and discretion when handling of emergency situations, determining and deciding upon procedures implemented, setting priorities, maintaining standards and resolving problems. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Display positive outlook and pleasant manner and encourages team cohesion and performance in the execution of client events Ability to anticipate and respond to problems and gather and analyze information skillfully. Ability to organize time, priorities and schedules and plan tasks, project plans and timelines Ability to follow implemented policies and procedures while maintaining the Boathouse and Lake Lanier Olympic Park standards of service. Ability to work well in a team environment while also be able to work with limited supervision. Ability to convey a professional and positive image and attitude at all times while on Lake Lanier Olympic Park property or during a City event. Maintains a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the event and hospitality industry; hours may be long and irregular. Must be goal and results driven.
