Description Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations using standardized assessments and observational methods. Create customized treatment plans to address both immediate objectives and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges. Deliver tailored one-on-one speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to create seamless care plans. Provide education and support to patients and families to encourage progress between sessions. Support in the delivery of inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions from time to time, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout the patient's journey. Ensure that documentation adheres to state, federal, and organizational guidelines through accurate and timely record-keeping. Enhance your professional knowledge by actively engaging in continuing education and peer collaboration. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained. Certifications Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within the first 30 days of employment. Skills Thorough expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies for patients of all ages, with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing. Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Adept at adjusting therapy techniques to cater to wide-ranging cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Robust clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
