Milling Machine Operator

The Milling Machine Operator is responsible for operating milling machines on heavy highway and roadway paving projects. This position ensures accurate removal of asphalt and concrete surfaces to required depths and grades while maintaining productivity, safety, and quality standards. Responsibilities Operate milling machines to remove existing pavement on highways and roadways Control depth, slope, and grade according to project plans and specifications Coordinate with ground crew, truck drivers, and paving crews to ensure efficient operations Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Monitor machine performance and material flow during operations Follow all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and traffic control requirements Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas Qualifications Proven experience operating milling machines on heavy highway or roadway projects Knowledge of roadway grades, slopes, and milling specifications bility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Willingness to work nights, weekends, overtime, and variable schedules Strong attention to safety, quality, and teamwork Valid driver's license required OSHA 10/30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Work Environment Outdoor construction environment with exposure to heavy equipment, traffic, noise, dust, and weather conditions.
