As a member of the Institutional Development & Community Prosperity (IDCP) team, the Assistant Director of Stakeholder Engagement supports Maryville University's advancement and external relations functions, including development operations, annual giving, alumni engagement, and stakeholder stewardship. This role provides tactical execution of engagement strategies, supports relationship cultivation across donors, alumni, corporate partners, and community leaders, and ensures accurate documentation and communication that advance institutional priorities. Working closely with the Director of Development Operations, this position contributes to operational effectiveness, coordinated engagement activities, and high-quality events and communications that strengthen Maryville's donor and alumni communities. Essential ResponsibilitiesStakeholder Engagement Identify, map, and prioritize key stakeholders across donors, alumni, corporate partners, and community organizations. Support execution of tailored engagement strategies aligned with annual giving, alumni relations, and donor stewardship priorities. Coordinate meeting logistics, briefing materials, and follow-up communications with stakeholders. Relationship Support Assist in cultivating and stewarding donors, alumni, and friends of the University through personalized communications, outreach, and engagement opportunities. Support stewardship processes, including acknowledgments, follow-up correspondence, and engagement touchpoints, consistent with best practices in development roles. Event Coordination Provide logistics and operational coordination for events supporting annual giving, alumni engagement, partnership development, and donor stewardship. Assist with planning, registration, briefings, run-of-show preparation, collateral, and post-event documentation. Communications Draft and distribute stakeholder-focused communications, including gift receipts, invitations, event summaries, alumni messaging, donor updates, and stewardship materials. Ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with university messaging and communication strategy in collaboration with marketing. Support development-related outreach, including annual giving messages and alumni engagement communications. Data Management Maintain accurate stakeholder interaction records, engagement activity logs, event attendance, and communication histories in CRM systems. Support core development operations functions such as tracking donor touchpoints, contact reports, and engagement metrics. Collaboration Work closely with development operations, alumni relations, annual giving, and partnership teams to ensure coordinated and consistent stakeholder engagement. Facilitate the timely flow of information and alignment across traditional advancement areas. QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Experience in stakeholder engagement, advancement, or development operations. Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail. Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with diverse stakeholders. Education Bachelor's degree required; experience in higher education, advancement, or related fields preferred. Salary Range Salary Range: $40,000-$50,000 per year (salary paid on an annual basis) The salary offered will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity within the university, in accordance with our established compensation practices.
