Position: GIS Engineer Location: Detroit, Michigan (Onsite) Duration: 18+ Months Client: State of MI - Detroit Water &Sewerage Department Job ID: 529439 Job Description: Responsibilities: • Develop geospatial technologies • Produce databases, perform applications programming, and coordinate projects • Support definition, documentation, and review of requirements • Contribute to system-level architecture and product roadmap planning • Design, implement, test, debug, integrate, deploy, and monitor integrations/updates with CityWorks and Innovyze software. Experience Requirements: • At least 7 years of hands-on experience • Expertise in urban planning and water/wastewater sector Technical Skills: • Experience with Web GIS platforms supporting: • Real-time data ingestion • Big data storage • Spatial analysis (real-time and near real-time) Educational Requirements: • Degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or Computer Science • Operational Intelligence Contribution: • Assist DWSD in: • Real-time monitoring of customer touchpoints • Spatial analysis of big data for quicker prioritization and response • Automated reporting to executive teams • Proactive customer service and demand management
