This full-time, day-shift role as an Appointment Coordinator involves scheduling patient visits, supporting training efforts, and maintaining accurate contact records. You will play a key role in enhancing patient satisfaction and loyalty through excellent customer service and effective communication. General Summary As an Appointment Coordinator, you will manage patient appointment scheduling, assist the operations manager with onboarding and mentoring new team members, and handle patient account inquiries to support the medical business office. You will also perform other duties assigned to a Level I agent. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support call center operations to increase patient appointments and improve customer relationships using technology and communication skills. Project a professional and positive image during phone interactions, handling distressed callers with patience and empathy. Resolve patient concerns by identifying issues, explaining solutions, and escalating complex problems when necessary. Contribute to team goals by completing related tasks and continuously updating job knowledge through educational opportunities. Maintain office equipment functionality by following procedures and reporting issues promptly. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred candidates will have graduated from an accredited medical receptionist or similar program or have two years of experience in healthcare or customer service. Experience At least two years of experience in a general medical office or call center environment is required. Clinic experience is preferred. Requirements Certification as a medical secretary or other medical technician/specialist from an accredited program is preferred. Strong oral communication skills and the ability to understand and convey detailed information. Ability to work effectively in a busy contact center environment with distractions. Excellent computer skills and a minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute. Knowledge of medical terminology and scheduling/staffing is preferred. Ability to occasionally lift and transport items up to 10 pounds and safely operate a vehicle. Working Conditions This position is based in a typical call center setting, working closely with patients, healthcare providers, and support staff across a multi-county region in the Midwest.
