Paint Technician Assistant

MACRO Industries, a leading aerospace and defense composites company, is seeking a Paint Technician Assistant for their Huntsville, AL location. The successful candidate will support the paint department in preparing, painting and maintaining paint booths and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists Paint Technician with surface preparation. Mixes coatings according to specification and work instructions. Prepares spraying equipment such as cleaning or adjusting spray guns. Inspects parts for defects before and after painting. Perform touch-ups as directed. Cleans equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions daily. Tracks materials used and assists with inventory control. Maintains proper respirator care and operation and uses the breathing air supply system when spraying epoxy paints. Supports continuous improvement and quality initiatives. Maintains and clean and organized work area. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience/Knowledge: Military or Aerospace painting experience a plus. Experience with composite materials and manufacturing a plus. Prior paint technician experience required. Skills/Abilities: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Ability to think quickly and resolve problems. Ability to work well independently and with a team. Able to lift up to 60 lbs.
