Job Description

Senior Buyer TCOM is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage the procurement of materials and services required to support operations at the Elizabeth City facility. This role will also contribute to strategic supply chain initiatives that support company growth and manufacturing efficiency. The Senior Buyer works closely with Production Planning, Accounting, Quality Assurance & Control, Facilities, and Project Management to ensure purchased materials meet program schedules and comply with internal and external requirements. This position is part of the Purchasing Department. Key Responsibilities Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on capabilities, reliability, quality, procedures, financial stability, and competitive position. Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) or solicit quotations for materials, equipment, rentals, and services. Analyze supplier bids for specification compliance, pricing, delivery commitments, and total cost of ownership. Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings and value for TCOM. Administer and monitor procurements through completion, including tracking schedules, expediting supplier performance, and resolving issues. Assist in monitoring and managing vendor and product performance to ensure quality and reliability. Conduct supplier visits and evaluations, including travel as necessary, to assess facilities and capabilities. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Production Planning to ensure inventory and Bills of Material requirements are met. Coordinate with Finance and Materials Control teams to reconcile invoices, receiving issues, and other procurement-related matters. Provide exceptional internal customer service by responding to needs promptly and effectively. Strategic Supply Chain Initiatives Support or lead company-wide supply chain improvement programs and initiatives. Maintain and update procurement master data within the ERP system, including supplier information and quote history. Analyze procurement processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, cost savings, and compliance. Administrative & Documentation Duties Prepare business correspondence and technical communications with suppliers. Maintain procurement and process documentation, metrics, and supplier performance records. Ensure all procurement activities adhere to TCOM policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field, or 15 years of relevant procurement experience. Experience: Minimum 7 years of procurement experience with demonstrated negotiation skills and supplier management expertise. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with ERP systems and supplier/vendor management preferred. Compensation In compliance with state and local laws, the salary range for this role is $80k-$120k. The range provided is a general guideline and good faith estimate representative of all experience levels but is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. TCOM considers several factors when extending an offer including, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, a candidate's experience, education/training, key skills, internal equity, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
