Maintenance Technician $32/hr DOEThis is a temp-to-hire positionIntegrity Trade Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for our fabricating client. Summary PRIMARY FUNCTION: The maintenance mechanic will prioritize, coordinate, and execute all maintenance activities. The maintenance mechanic will work with other maintenance personnel, tool crib personnel, and shop employees. The successful candidate will maximize productivity and quality, give prompt attention to emergency jobs, coordinate all preventative maintenance activities, and submit reports of work execution where applicable. The maintenance mechanic will maintain a close liaison with operational supervisors and personnel, support groups, and other employees to oversee all maintenance activities. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager. The right candidate will: Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions. Keep records of maintenance and repair work. Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools. Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Repair and maintain machines and mechanical equipment in the plant. Maintain and repair specialized equipment in the plant. Troubleshoot and fix faulty equipment. Replace or fix worn or broken parts, where necessary, or make adjustments. Inspect and diagnose problems and determine the best way to correct them, utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs Install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines to repair or fabricate machine parts and tools. Obtain supplies and repair parts from suppliers, distributors or the tool crib. Coordinate outside contractors, oversee maintenance of air-conditioning and heating systems. Use common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers, as well as specialized equipment and electronic testing devices. Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment. Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications. Provide training and instruction to lower classified personnel regarding equipment usage. Provide support to other departmental functions within the plant. Liaise with the purchasing department to evaluate vendors and contractors. What you'll need: Experience as a maintenance mechanic, electrician, tooling or in another related technical field. Thorough understanding and knowledge of the operations and processes of the maintenance department and the manufacturing process at the Gary division. Self-motivation to identify, analyze, and independently work to find solutions to flow issues is essential. Ability to use normal PC skills, such as Excel and Microsoft Office. Ability to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areas. Excellent judgment and analytical skills, including detailed planning and project management. Customer-focused and self-motivated. Outstanding problem-solving and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
