Job Type Temporary Description Job DescriptionCamp - Registered NurseSUPERVISOR: Camp Director DEPARTMENT: Camp FLSA STATUS: Seasonal LAST UPDATED: 02/06/2020 LEADERSHIP SUMMARY The Camp Register Nurse will infuse and model the Girl Scout Law into their everyday work to fulfill the mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. POSITION SUMMARY The Camp Register Nurse is accountable for providing health care to the camper. Responsible for health emergencies, managing the health center. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES • Manages all check-in and check-outs for each camper. • Maintain all trip documentation and medications • Ensure that all first aid kits are always fully stocked • Maintain daily and weekly documentation • Train staff on health responsibilities and procedures • Consult with an On-Call Doctor • Maintain health center • Complete pre and post-health center prep checklist • Schedule staff coverage for health center • Keep the Director informed of any health concerns • Attends orientation week • Attends staff meetings • Participates in camp activities as needed • Follows camp rules and policies • Maintains a positive attitude and professionalism with campers, parents, volunteers, and staff SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITIESStaff: NONE Committee(s): NONE CULTURAL EXPECTATIONSEmpathy - Approaches others with a service mindset. KNOWLEDGE AND CREDENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSRequired • Bachelor's degree in Nursing • Current and in good standing Register Nurse licenses • 2-3 years' experience in health care field • Experience working with youth preferred • Knowledge of Girl Scout Leadership Experience preferred • First Aid and CPR certification preferred ABILITY AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS • Membership with GSUSA and Subscribes to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement • Demonstrate ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines. • Strong human relations skills and ability to work well with others of diverse cultures • Ability to exercise good judgement • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Solution driven with the ability to effectively problem solve • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds • Ability to bend, stoop, and sit for extended periods • Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures for extended periods SCHEDULE AND LODGING • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings • Flexibility to live on camp site during camp season The above job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employee and should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
