Dod Skillbridge Internship - Talent Acquisition / Recruiting Aegis Aerospace, Inc. is seeking motivated transitioning service members with prior Human Resources and/or Recruiting experience to participate in a DoD SkillBridge internship supporting our HR and Talent Acquisition team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to corporate HR operations and full-cycle recruiting in a defense and aerospace environment. The role is designed for service members who already possess foundational HR or recruiting knowledge and want to translate their military experience into a civilian HR or talent acquisition career. This is not an entry-level retraining opportunity. Candidates must demonstrate prior experience in HR, personnel administration, staffing, recruiting, or talent management within the military. The selected intern will work alongside Aegis Aerospace HR and Recruiting professionals and will be integrated into day-to-day operations. The internship emphasizes practical experience, mentorship, and direct involvement in recruiting and HR processes. The intern will: Support full-cycle recruiting activities including resume review, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications Assist with sourcing candidates through job boards, referrals, and internal systems Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and external partners Maintain accurate candidate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS) Assist with onboarding documentation and new hire coordination Support HR administrative tasks including personnel file maintenance and data tracking Learn and apply federal contractor and compliance considerations relevant to HR and recruiting Participate in recruiting strategy discussions and workforce planning support Provide professional, timely communication to candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders Minimum Qualifications: Must be a current active-duty U.S. service member within 365-180 days of separation or retirement Must meet all eligibility requirements of the DoD SkillBridge program and obtain command approval prior to start date Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have prior military experience in Human Resources, personnel administration, recruiting, or talent management Basic working knowledge of HR or recruiting processes Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism Ability to work independently and as part of a professional HR team Desired Qualifications: Military HR, personnel, or recruiting MOS/AFSC/Rate or equivalent billet experience Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Experience screening resumes or supporting hiring actions Familiarity with applicant tracking systems or HR databases Demonstrated interest in pursuing a civilian career in Human Resources or Talent Acquisition Actively pursuing or planning to pursue education in Human Resources, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field Interest in, or coursework toward, professional HR certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent Application Instructions: An updated resume detailing your military service, education, and any IT-related training or certifications in progress A brief cover letter or paragraph in your resume explaining your interest in the Aegis Aerospace IT Help Desk internship, your goals for SkillBridge participation, and your official separation date. Important Information: This is an unpaid internship. Participants will continue to receive military pay and benefits from their respective service branch during the training period. The duration of the internship will align with DoD SkillBridge program guidelines. Interns are responsible for their own transportation, housing, and personal expenses.
