Job Title: Certified Pharmacy Technician – Overnight Shift Location: Morristown, NJ 07960 Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour Schedule: 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off (Thursday Start) 30-Minute Lunch Assignment Type: Temp-to-Hire (High Potential to Extend or Convert to Permanent) Position Overview A-Line Staffing is seeking a dedicated Certified Pharmacy Technician to join a hospital-based pharmacy team on an overnight schedule. This role offers a unique 7-on/7-off rotation, providing consistent extended time off while maintaining full-time hours. The ideal candidate has strong hospital pharmacy experience, is comfortable working overnight shifts, and demonstrates precision, accountability, and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Schedule Details Work 7 consecutive overnight shifts (Thursday–Wednesday) Off the following 7 consecutive days 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM Consistent rotating schedule Key Responsibilities Medication Order Processing Accurately fill medication orders for pharmacist verification and dispensing Prepare extemporaneous and sterile IV preparations Stock and replenish carts, trays, boxes, and kits Perform cart/bin exchanges and manage discontinued/returned medications Document and sign all associated paperwork accurately Distribution & Returns Process medication requests via phone, fax, window, and computer systems Deliver medications through pneumatic tubes, courier, or hand-delivery Retrieve and sort returns from nursing stations Sterile Compounding Prepare IV medications aseptically and efficiently Batch and document IV medications accurately Maintain strong knowledge of sterile technique, IV equipment, TPN, and hazardous drug handling Assist in coordinating IV treatment timing to reduce waste Automated Dispensing Systems Refill automated dispensing machines accurately Resolve stock-outs and equipment issues Remove expired medications and complete destruction documentation Perform reconciliation and monthly inspections Inventory & Repackaging Repackage oral medications and ensure barcoding compliance Monitor expiration dates and remove outdated products Retrieve recalled medications from stock Maintain organized medication and supply storage Team & Performance Support Answer phones and assist staff professionally and courteously Support workflow alongside pharmacists Participate in performance improvement and cost-saving initiatives Contribute positively to team goals and departmental coverage needs Required Qualifications Active registration with the State of New Jersey Board of Pharmacy Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification 2+ years of hospital pharmacy experience/oncology and/or infusion center experience High School Diploma or GED If you are interested in this position and want to learn more, feel free to reach out to Chris with A-Line Staffing at or apply to this posting!
