Overview: St. Mary's Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our expanding Gastroenterology team in Amsterdam, NY. This full-time role offers a dynamic, collaborative setting with a strong emphasis on outpatient evaluation and follow-up, procedural coordination, and ongoing patient education. You will work alongside experienced gastroenterologists and a dedicated support team to provide high-quality care for patients with a wide range of GI conditions. As part of our gastroenterology team, you will contribute to a comprehensive, evidence-based program that prioritizes patient well-being and continuity of care. Position Highlights: Full-time, hospital-employed role within an established gastroenterology program Outpatient clinic focus with opportunities for procedural collaboration Collaborate directly with gastroenterologists on care plans, follow-ups, and pre/post-procedure evaluations Supportive clinical team including LPNs and administrative staff to streamline workflow Excellent opportunity for an APP with interest in digestive diseases, liver health, or chronic GI disorders Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive GI assessments, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations Manage acute and chronic GI conditions such as GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and functional bowel disorders Assist in the coordination of endoscopic procedures, including patient prep and post-procedure follow-up Order and interpret relevant lab work, imaging, and diagnostics Educate patients on condition management, medications, lifestyle changes, and prevention Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and communicate effectively with referring providers Participate in quality improvement and care coordination initiatives within the department Qualifications:Required Credentials - Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of New York Preferred Experience - Prior experience in gastroenterology, internal medicine, or a related specialty is preferred but not required Education - Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program Skills - Strong clinical decision-making, patient education, and collaboration skills Compensation & Benefits: Base Salary Range - $130,000 - $145,000 (commensurate with experience) Competitive compensation package, including base salary + sign-on bonus Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plans with employer contributions Potential eligibility for loan repayment programs due to our HPSA designation Complexity of Work: This role requires a high level of clinical independence, critical thinking, and the ability to manage a diverse gastroenterology patient population.
