Job Summary Working independently, Safety's Subrogation Specialists are responsible for evaluating recovery opportunities, identifying responsible party coverage, obtaining documentation supporting liability and first-party indemnity payments, and pursuing recovery against other insurance carriers and self-insured entities. Responsibilities Reviews claims to determine potential for recovery Identifies responsible party coverage Evaluates claim liability assessments and indemnity payments Gathers, investigates, and develops supporting documentation to secure appropriate settlements Reviews incoming settlement offers Negotiates settlements with responsible parties when appropriate Prepares files for and files arbitration when appropriate Refers appropriate files to collection attorneys Develops and maintains documentation, including case maintenance and control over aging files Hears arbitrations as an Arbitration Forums arbiter Performs other activities as required Qualifications College degree or commensurate insurance experience required Three or more years handling Massachusetts auto insurance claims preferred Previous subrogation or collections experience preferred Ability to work independently and manage a high caseload
