Description Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients through a variety of assessment methods. Create individualized treatment plans tailored to achieve short-term objectives and long-term aims related to communication, cognition, and swallowing. Implement focused, one-on-one therapy sessions that prioritize improving language skills, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing capabilities. Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues such as physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to coordinate effective care strategies. Empower patients and families through education that extends the learning beyond the clinical environment. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, guaranteeing a seamless treatment experience. Uphold meticulous documentation practices that comply with relevant guidelines and policies. Commit to continuous professional development, staying abreast of the latest advancements in treatment methods. Education Earned a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you have not yet obtained ASHA certification. Certifications Current state licensure as a Speech Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based practice across all age groups, with a deep comprehension of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Strong interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Capacity to modify therapy techniques to resonate with various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sound clinical judgment complemented by problem-solving skills. Proficiency in electronic health records and adherence to documentation standards.
