Job Description

Title: Senior Electrical Engineer Location: El Dorado Hills, CA - Onsite Type: Direct Hire Job Summary The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical design, development, documentation, and testing of factory automation systems. This role involves integrating diverse industrial components and machinery, designing electrical circuits, panels, enclosures, and cabling, and supporting PLC-based control systems, robotics, Ethernet communications, and power distribution. The position also includes collaboration across engineering disciplines and providing technical guidance during system assembly and commissioning. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with management and engineering teams to define requirements for new or modified factory automation systems. Design and create complete electrical schematics for new systems and system modifications. Develop electrical subsystems including panels, enclosures, and cabling using approved CAD tools. Produce comprehensive electrical assembly and documentation packages. Select and integrate PLC components in accordance with internal standards. Partner with software teams to support PLC programming, including core functionality and diagnostics. Ensure electrical designs meet safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness standards. Work cross-functionally with mechanical, software, project, and production teams to troubleshoot and debug systems. Support and advise technicians during system assembly and testing. Drive continuous improvement of electrical design processes, tools, and methodologies. Research and evaluate new technologies, CAD tools, and diagnostic equipment. Stay current with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies. Provide technical support and training to internal teams. Build and maintain strong relationships with component vendors and service providers. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical engineering within factory automation or industrial system integration. Proven experience designing and integrating PLC-based factory control systems. Strong background in integrating industrial machinery, safety components, custom circuitry, panels, and cabling. Proficiency in electrical schematic design using tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, or equivalent. Proficiency with mechanical CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor. Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Solid understanding of electrical assembly processes and documentation standards. Experience working directly with vendors for component selection and technical support. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to learn and apply new technologies effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proven ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneousl.
