Description: BAPTIST HEALTH SOUTH FLORIDA INC. in Miami, FL seeks an Advanced Aortic & Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Duties include as part of a multidisciplinary cardiovascular and thoracic surgery team, perform all aspects of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery including minimally invasive coronary artery bypass or valve repair, complicated aortic repair, open thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair, endovascular aneurysm repair and heart failure management. Perform complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures; participate in on-call rotation; collaborate with a team of cardiologists, pulmonologists, intensivists and other surgical specialists; engage in resident and medical student teaching and clinical research; contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Qualifications: Must have a Medical Degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) plus 4 years of experience as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon so long as it includes: (a) 4 years of experience in complicated aortic surgery; (b) 4 years of experience in and heart failure management including Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Management; (c) 3 years of experience in open thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair; (d) 2 years of experience in minimally invasive cardiac surgery including mitral valve repair; (e) 2 years of experience in off-pump coronary artery bypass with all arterial grafts; (f) 2 years of experience teaching ACGME accredited fellows in cardiothoracic surgery; (g) 1 years of experience in endovascular aneurysm repair; (h) 6 months of experience in the heart procurement; (i) 6 months of experience in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. State of Florida MD License req.’d; Board certification in cardiothoracic surgery (U.S. or foreign equivalent certification) or Board certification in vascular surgery (U.S. or foreign equivalent certification); and Completion of a 2-year aortic fellowship in U.S. Employer requires pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check (including a criminal background check).
