Safety, Compliance & Hr Coordinator We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Safety, Compliance & HR Coordinator to support our Safety Department with additional responsibilities in hiring, onboarding, and routine HR functions. This role combines safety support, DOT compliance oversight, bookkeeping, record keeping, and light HR duties. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent time-management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures the company remains compliant with all regulatory and internal requirements. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Assist in implementing and maintaining company safety policies and procedures. Support compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and internal safety standards. Maintain driver qualification files, vehicle maintenance logs, accident files, and compliance documentation. Monitor safety metrics, incident reports, and compliance deadlines. Assist with safety audits, inspections, and corrective action processes. DOT / FMCSA Responsibilities Manage driver compliance: MVR checks, drug & alcohol testing, medical cards, certifications, and annual reviews. Maintain DOT records including Hours of Service (HOS), ELD data, and fleet compliance files. Assist with accident reporting, investigation documentation, and follow-up actions. Ensure all DOT/FMCSA regulatory requirements are met and documented accurately. Bookkeeping & Record Keeping Perform light bookkeeping tasks such as expense logging, invoice tracking, and basic financial record organization. Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems. Support data entry for compliance, safety, insurance, and incident reporting. Prepare internal reports and summaries for management. Hiring & Light HR Duties Assist with resume screening, and applicant communication. Schedule interviews and support hiring managers during the selection process. Coordinate new-hire onboarding, including safety orientation and documentation collection. Help maintain employee personnel files and ensure documents are up to date. Assist with attendance tracking, certification renewals, and policy acknowledgments. Support HR with basic administrative tasks as needed (notifying employees of required updates, updating forms, etc.). Administrative Support Coordinate safety meetings, training sessions, and maintain attendance records. Communicate safety updates, reminders, and compliance needs to employees. Manage department calendars, compliance deadlines, and task schedules. Qualifications Prior experience in safety, compliance, HR, or office administration preferred. Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations. Basic bookkeeping skills (Excel, QuickBooks, or similar). Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail a must for this role. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow through on tasks without supervision. Strong communication skills with a professional demeanor. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly.
