The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: What You Will Do: Lead the design and development of rotating mechanical components including rotors, shafts, impellers, disks, turbine-related hardware, and bearing systems Own component and subsystem designs through the full product lifecycle: concept, development, qualification, certification, and production support Redesign the part based on detailed stress, fatigue, thermal, and life analyses performed by other engineering disciplines Conduct and lead technical trade studies centered around performance, weight, cost, manufacturability, and durability Interface with thermal, aerodynamic, structures, manufacturing, and test engineering teams Lead technical design reviews, risk assessments, and technical decision-making Ensure compliance with commercial aerospace standards, customer specifications, and internal design practices What You Will Bring: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred 8+ years of experience designing rotating mechanical components for aerospace applications Strong expertise in turbomachinery or high-speed rotating systems Strong background in thermal and/or aerodynamic design and analysis preferred Advanced proficiency in NX or equivalent CAD tools Experience understanding CFD and advanced FEA tools preferred Proven experience understanding and incorporating stress, fatigue, thermal, and life analysis of rotating hardware during product life cycle Experience with high-temperature materials, coatings, and durability criteria of critical components preferred Experience leading design reviews and cross-functional technical efforts Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan. Work Requirements: This role is considered an on-site position located in Windsor Locks, CT. You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours. Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Travel Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, no travel is required.
