Morton Plant Hospital, a part of BayCare Health System, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our acute care team. This role focuses on evaluating and treating patients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments resulting from illness, injury, or surgery. The therapist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, helping patients regain independence in daily living activities and facilitating safe discharge planning. Acute Care Occupational Therapist Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' functional abilities and limitations. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve ADLs, mobility, and safety. Provide therapeutic interventions including neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, and adaptive equipment training. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and case managers. Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to improve independence and safety at home. Participate in discharge planning and recommend appropriate follow-up services.
