The University of Lynchburg, a private, regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, is seeking applicants for Full-time, Exempt, Graduate Admissions Coordinator for Health Sciences. The Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, advising, and supporting prospective students applying to graduate-level health science programs. The coordinator works collaboratively with academic departments to meet enrollment goals while ensuring a high-quality, student-centered admissions experience. This position reports to, is supervised by, and evaluated by the Director of Admissions. The evaluation of work performance will be ongoing and will be carried out by the Director of Admissions. It will include the specific duties and responsibilities of this position description plus employee attitude and general working behavior. JOB PURPOSE: To best serve graduate students from initial awareness and recruitment, through enrollment by coordinating with graduate program directors, deans, and the associate provost for academic strategy in areas of marketing, admissions and enrollment services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Recruitment & Outreach: Develop and implement recruitment strategies for health science graduate programs to support enrollment goals. Represent the institution at graduate fairs, virtual events, open houses, and professional conferences. Build relationships with feeder institutions, advisors, and healthcare organizations. Conduct information sessions and presentations for prospective students. Admissions Counseling: Serve as the primary admissions contact for prospective and admitted students in health science graduate programs. Provide individualized advising on program prerequisites, application requirements, licensure considerations, and career pathways. Guide applicants through the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment. Communicate admissions decisions, next steps, and enrollment requirements through phone conversations, email, and direct mail. Serve as the point of contact for the Graduate Pathways program. Train faculty and staff on the direct admit "opt in" initiative. Liaise with Academic Achievement Center and identified undergraduate students in the Graduate Pathway program Provide engagement and retention events to increase the pipeline of graduate students into the program. Assist and expedite in the admissions process in final year Application Review & Processing Review and evaluate graduate applications in collaboration with faculty and program directors. Manage application workflows, deadlines, and documentation within the CRM and admissions systems (Slate). Collaboration & Program Support Partner with health science faculty, program directors, and clinical placement teams to align recruitment and admissions efforts. Participate in program-specific admissions committees as assigned. Assist with yield initiatives such as admitted student events and onboarding activities. Data & Reporting Track recruitment and admissions metrics related to health science programs. Analyze enrollment trends and provide recommendations for improving recruitment and yield. Maintain accurate records in the CRM system. Compliance & Professional Standards Stay informed on trends in graduate health education, accreditation requirements, and licensure pathways. Ensure admissions practices align with institutional policies, FERPA and privacy, and ethical recruitment standards. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Exceptional communication, organizational and leadership skills. Experience in both academic and administrative aspects of higher education. Experience in admissions CRM. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: CRM experience in Slate Knowledge in health science fields MINIMUM EDUCATION: The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters Degree ORAL OR WRITTEN REQUIREMENTS: The functions of this position are usually performed sitting, but may involve approximately 10% of the time standing or walking. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, or carrying may be required. Tasks such as working at a computer keyboard involve extensive wrist and hand movements. The normal work schedule is 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility of schedule to accommodate nights and weekend hours and related expectations as required. Must be able to work independently as a part of a professional team.
