WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: In this role, you will create detailed site plans, roadway designs, and railroad plans, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, utilities, grading, erosion control, drainage plans, civil details, and other designs as directed by our Engineers. You will also collaborate with other disciplines to ensure all documentation is precise and comprehensive. Maintain professional ethics in your interactions with colleagues, clients, and vendors. Review rough sketches and engineering data provided by the Engineer to ensure clarity. Evaluate project scope and alert project management of any changes or discrepancies noticed during the design phase. Examine design inputs for clarity, and communicate any ambiguities to the relevant stakeholders for resolution. Check design outputs to ensure alignment with inputs, standards, and industry practices. Log design decisions systematically for reference. Handle design changes post-document issuance and inform project management of resulting scope changes. Adhere to Jedson Engineering Inc.'s drafting and quality standards. YOUR IDEAL BACKGROUND: To succeed in this position, you must possess a high level of expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, enabling you to create, modify, reference, and plot drawings according to our and our client's standards. An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school paired with 5 to 7+ years of relevant experience; a combination of education and experience will also be considered. Familiarity with reviewing survey data, utilizing Civil 3D Grading, Corridor, and Rail design tools. Ability to coordinate scope transitions between disciplines effectively. Communicate Civil 3D designs using Navisworks for underground piping, roadway/rail designs, and 3D grading models. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with all levels of professionals involved in the industrial design process, including engineers and architects.
