Staff Nurse-B - Transplant The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Centers mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patients involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care. The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model. Minimum Education Required: 2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing Additional Education Desired: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing Required Qualifications: Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. Experience in relevant care setting preferred. The 10 Rhodes team cares for Solid Organ Transplant patients across all levels of care: Acute Care, Progressive Care, and Critical Care, in one of the largest inpatient units in the Medical Center. The Transplant unit is 43 total beds, including the ability to care for up to 17 Critical and Progressive Care patients. The Transplant unit is also home to a biopsy suite for kidney transplant patients. This unit presents a unique opportunity for nurses to advance and broaden their experience within the same unit and team!
