Role Overview As a Locum OB Hospitalist, you will provide critical obstetric and gynecological coverage in a dynamic hospital setting. With an annual delivery volume of approximately 4,690, and a NICU level III designation, your responsibilities will include managing labor and delivery, emergent gynecological cases, and collaborating with community providers for backup during multiple emergencies. This role offers an engaging environment with ongoing resident rotations and a pseudo laborist model supporting unassigned and private patients. Your contributions will directly impact the health and safety of mothers and infants in the region. Required Skills Active Medical License in California or eligible for licensure in CA Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Proven experience handling labor and delivery, emergent gynecological cases, and high-risk pregnancies Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Ability to work independently within the hospital setting Nice to Have Skills Experience working within a residency program, especially with Family Medicine residents in OB / L&D rotations Familiarity with Level III NICU protocols and care Prior experience in hospitalist or locum Tenens roles BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications Preferred Education and Experience MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology Previous locum or hospitalist experience highly desirable Other Requirements Availability to start starting December 31, 2025 Must be comfortable providing emergent gynecological and obstetric care Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume delivery environment Willingness to work rotating shifts covering 24/7 anesthesia support as part of the hospital’s anesthesia model Enjoy a competitive hourly pay rate of $234.00 along with weekly pay via direct deposit.
