Accounts Payable Specialist LHH is proactively recruiting for a permanent Accounts Payable Specialist opportunity with a well-established organization located in Silver Spring, MD. We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a structured, process-driven environment. Candidates who have supported a system conversion or ERP implementation will be highly regarded. This role will manage full-cycle accounts payable responsibilities in a paper-check environment. Experience navigating ERP transitions or system improvements is a significant plus. Industry exposure to construction or project-based environments (including job costing) is beneficial but not required. Key Responsibilities: Review, code, and accurately enter vendor invoices into the accounting system Process weekly check runs (all payments are issued via check) Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries Maintain accurate vendor records and documentation Reconcile accounts payable subledger to the general ledger Assist with month-end close activities and reporting support Prepare and distribute annual 1099 forms Support audit requests and maintain organized financial records Qualifications: 25 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred Experience with Sage 300 (Timberline) a plus Exposure to ERP systems and Excel proficiency required Experience participating in a software conversion or system implementation is a major plus Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines Clear and professional communication skills This is an excellent opportunity for an AP professional seeking long-term stability with a company offering bonus potential and a collaborative team environment.
