Volunteer Driver for Student Transport

Overview Join our mission to enhance the lives of children by becoming a Volunteer Driver for Student Transport. In this fulfilling role, you will ensure safe and reliable transportation for public school children to and from the LifeWise site. We are looking for committed individuals with a clean driving record who want to make a positive impact in the community. Qualifications and Experience A mature personal Christian faith that aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith. Active participation in a local church whose beliefs are consistent with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith. Valid driver's license with a clean record for the past three years (a copy will be kept on file by LifeWise). No at-fault accidents or traffic violations in the last five years; for clarification regarding eligibility, please contact your Program Coach. Age requirement: 21-80 years. For applicants aged 75 or older, additional documentation is necessary, including: An annual Physician's Statement for van drivers. A yearly submission of the CDL license and (P) Passenger Endorsement for CDL drivers. Completion of a background check conducted by LifeWise Academy. Drivers with existing medical conditions must provide an annual underwriter-approved Physician's Statement. Compliance with all drug and/or alcohol testing regulations, including pre-employment, annual random tests, and post-accident evaluations. Job Responsibilities Overview Safely drive children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the designated site. Follow all traffic laws and maintain a flawless driving record. Regularly inspect the vehicle to ensure it is mechanically safe and clean. Refuel the vehicle as needed. Create a safe and welcoming environment for children by: Enforcing safety rules while maintaining a calm and caring demeanor. Assisting students with getting in and out of the vehicle. Being attentive to students who may need extra help or may be misbehaving. Optionally support in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the Director.
