We are seeking an Administrative Specialist II for the Insights/Young Adults Program (YAP) who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness. This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH), Columbia Area Mental Health Center (CAMHC), Lower Richland Insights/Young Adults Program, 1848 Pineview Road, Columbia, SC, CAMHC #066. As the Administrative Specialist, working under limited supervision, you will perform a variety of advanced and administrative duties within the Insights/Young Adults Program. Responsibilities for this Administrative Specialist II: Provide administrative support to the clinicians and staff of the Insights/Young Adults Program (YAP). Responsible for the clerical and administrative needs of YAP. Ensure common areas are in good repair and are neat, clean, and welcoming. Order office supplies as needed. Coordinate delivery of mail to and from the campus programs. Maintain responsibility for ensuring patient medical records are up to date. Serve as primary liaison to area hospitals as needed. Maintain primary responsibility for ensuring payments are collected from patients in accordance with OMH/CAMHC policies. Work with program manager to ensure patients who have outstanding balances have a plan for addressing their debt. Maintain responsibility for scheduling. Ensure that provider schedules are accurate and kept up to date and that aftercare appointments are scheduled in accordance with OMH/CAMHC policy. Ensure that Medicaid transportation is scheduled for those patients who require transportation in order to attend appointments. Respond to telephone messages, emails, Teams messages, and inter-office mail. Comply with the Office of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma. Preferred QualificationsBilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. An associate degree in secretarial science and the ability to type at a corrected rate of 55 wpm. Additional Comments Post hire, employees must: Have extensive knowledge of office management policies, practices and procedures. Have working knowledge of general administrative service functions. Have the ability to collect and assemble information in a clear, concise manner. Have the ability to work independently and maintain professionalism, accuracy and finesse when time constraints are maximized. Be knowledgeable of the common symptoms of mental illness and demonstrate patience when interacting with this targeted population.
