Certified Financial Planner Volunteer

Provide free individualized financial guidance to low- and moderate-income community members with Prepare + Prosper. We are an economic justice nonprofit based in Minnesota that works to build financial health and provide access to free tax and financial services. Volunteers will schedule one-time phone or virtual consultations with Prepare + Prosper customers. Financial Planners who volunteer with us gain valuable experience working with diverse communities and receive training on the economic challenges P+P populations tend to face, in order to communicate with equity and respect in mind. Spanish speakers especially encouraged to volunteer! Skills Required: Be a Certified Financial Planner™ professional in good standing with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Ability to communicate with participants via phone and/or virtually Enjoy working within a racially and socio-economically diverse population Basic computer proficiency English proficiency required; additional language capacity appreciated The time commitment is approx. 2 hours per week between the end of January and the end of May, which comes to approx. 35 hours total.
