Position Overview SmileHouse is seeking a highly skilled and technically focused Digital CAD-CAM Technologist to lead in-house digital manufacturing and production integration within our interdisciplinary clinical model. This role is ideal for a digitally fluent technician who understands CAD-CAM workflows, Roland milling systems, sintering protocols, and precision restorative manufacturing — and who is excited to collaborate with an elite international design team in Madrid operating within the Digital Smile Design (DSD) ecosystem. The technologist will function as the in-office manufacturing and technical liaison between SmileHouse NYC and the top digital Lab in Europe, ensuring seamless translation from digital design to precise physical execution. Core Responsibilities Digital Manufacturing & Production Operate and maintain Roland CAD-CAM milling machines (wet/dry milling) Manage zirconia, lithium disilicate, PMMA, and temporary materials Oversee sintering oven protocols for zirconia processing Perform finishing, staining, glazing coordination as needed Ensure quality control, marginal integrity, and fit verification Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot mill units and related hardware Digital Workflow Integration Receive finalized designs from digital Lab (Madrid) Verify file integrity (STL, Exocad, 3Shape formats) Prepare and nest cases for optimal milling efficiency Coordinate case timelines with clinical team Manage digital case tracking from scan to delivery Technology Stewardship Maintain intraoral scan data workflow (Trios / iTero / Medit as applicable) Optimize scan-to-mill efficiency Troubleshoot software-hardware interface issues Monitor bur wear, spindle performance, and mill calibration Maintain digital inventory of materials and discs Cross-Continental Collaboration Serve as technical liaison with digital design Lab – Madrid Participate in case review meetings when required Provide production feedback to improve design-to-manufacturing precision Contribute to ongoing workflow refinement Required Qualifications 3+ years experience in CAD-CAM dental manufacturing Proficiency with Roland milling systems Experience with zirconia sintering ovens Understanding of restorative materials and their mechanical properties Knowledge of Exocad or 3Shape environments Strong attention to detail and manufacturing precision Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues independently You need to livd in fhe NYC area and this is on- site opportunty in NYC Preferred Attributes Experience within a DSD or interdisciplinary digital environment Understanding of occlusion, function, and esthetic parameters High digital literacy and systems thinking Strong communication skills Growth-oriented mindset and commitment to excellence Work Environment SmileHouse operates within a Four-Pillar diagnostic model (Esthetics, Structure, Function, Biology) and collaborates weekly across specialties.
