Job Description

Join us at a pioneering services company dedicated to AI-native innovation. We collaborate with enterprise clients to design cutting-edge, agent-powered workflows that are built to excel in real-world applications. As a part of our team, you will work closely with clients, moving beyond theoretical projects into tangible operational outcomes. About You: You are an AI Native Engineer with expertise in cloud-native solutions and hands-on experience in crafting and deploying agent-based systems specifically for enterprise applications. You're a problem-solver who thrives in dynamic environments, consistently delivering results by designing, building, and implementing AI agents that enhance workflows and scale efficiently across contemporary infrastructures. Your Responsibilities: Lead the design and implementation of sophisticated agent-driven solutions, mentoring or coaching junior engineers as necessary. Act as an individual contributor, owning critical technical areas from start to finish. Help cultivate the framework for how enterprises adopt and evolve AI-native engineering. Your Work: You'll engage directly with clients as both a technical expert and trusted advisor. Collaborating with stakeholders to determine use cases, you'll quickly prototype and deploy robust agent-driven workflows that operate effectively in complex business environments. These often include new platforms and systems integrated alongside our partner ecosystems. Key Areas of Focus: Agent Architecture & Engineering: Design and develop enterprise-ready AI agents that include capabilities for retrieval, orchestration, policy routing, tool invocation, and lifecycle monitoring. Create resilient, testable, and maintainable agent workflows adaptable to rapid iterations. AI Platform Integration: Build or enhance abstraction layers across various AI providers to facilitate smooth integration and support for multiple technologies. Contribute to shared libraries, SDKs, and reusable patterns for client applications. Cloud-Native Engineering: Utilize containerization (like Kubernetes and Docker), microservices, serverless architectures, event-driven models, CI/CD, and observability tools to create scalable AI-native systems. Oversee deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of your services in live environments. Domain-Specific Workflows: Customize agent applications across various sectors such as finance, healthcare, and retail by aligning with domain-specific processes and challenges. Work alongside subject matter experts to translate business processes into effective agent-based solutions. Client Engagement: Lead design workshops, proof of concepts, and collaborative coding sessions to develop data-driven agent workflows, fostering trust and adoption. Effectively communicate trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences alike. Measure & Improve: Establish and utilize metrics, testing frameworks, and evaluation methodologies to assess agent performance across accuracy, latency, safety, and cost. Rapidly iterate based on data, feedback, and evolving needs. Knowledge Sharing: Create reusable documentation, patterns, and best practices to inform internal resources and client strategies. Engage with internal professional communities focused on AI-native and agentic engineering. Note: This role may require travel ranging from 25% to 75%, depending on business needs and client requirements. Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience with cloud-native systems (APIs, microservices, containerization, serverless frameworks). At least 1 year of practical experience in designing and deploying agentic solutions in production or near-production settings. A minimum of 1 year of experience with modern AI platforms, such as OpenAI, Claude, or Vertex AI, including developing abstraction layers for multi-provider integrations. 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Java, or similar, with an emphasis on evaluation, logging, monitoring, and observability of agents. Experience deploying services to production environments using CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and debugging over a span of 3 years. 3+ years of client-facing experience with excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of leading technical discussions and workshops under uncertain conditions. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent, or relevant work experience (minimum 12 years), with at least 6 years for those with an Associate's degree. Preferred Qualifications: Certification or experience with AI tools is beneficial. Experience as an AI Engineer or in agentic engineering within an enterprise context. Experience defining or working within enterprise-grade architectures for AI systems or orchestration frameworks. Understanding of the AI-native paradigm, including the integration of cloud-native and generative model architectures for optimized performance. Proven track record of delivering tailored solutions across multiple industries. Experience leading a team, providing coaching and guidance for career development. Expertise in managing various workstreams to ensure quality and alignment with client goals. The position will require you to be based in one of our key locations, including California, Cleveland, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, or Washington. Compensation: Salary varies based on location, role, skill set, and experience.
