Title of the job: Customer Service Associate Location: Retail Grocery Store General job description The customer service associate will increase customer trust and loyalty by providing accurate, prompt, and friendly customer service in accordance with company guidelines, policies, and procedures. This role will satisfactorily resolve customer concerns or escalate them to an appropriate level of management. Responsibilities and key duties Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers promptly, courteously, and amicably. Address customer issues/complaints and resolve them to the full satisfaction of the customer immediately, within company guidelines, maintaining composure and professionalism; escalate problems to management with a positive attitude. Coordinate daily cash and accounting functions of the store in accordance with company guidelines, policies, and procedures and management instruction. Maintain knowledge of front-end operations and stay updated on changes in policies and procedures to proactively preserve and support service levels and departmental responsibility. Manage ACM lanes in accordance with company standards and policies. Ensure each self-checkout lane is opened correctly, appropriate reports are printed, and cash maintenance requirements are met. Resolve front-end equipment issues through the self-help icon on the computer desk or by contacting retail service assistance as needed. Stock front-end products; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain the lowest supply cost. Exhibit professional telephone etiquette and ensure connection with the appropriate department or associate. Maintain confidentiality of information. Place discarded or returned merchandise. Perform cashier associate duties as needed. Perform pricing tasks as needed. Maintain the work area clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards; report defective equipment and hazards to management. Notify management of associate theft, habitual theft, unauthorized markdowns, defacement of property, or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy. Perform other related job duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum: Must be 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English. Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain. Successful completion of pre-employment drug tests and background checks. Preferred: Demonstrate strong customer service communication skills, effectively addressing and resolving customer concerns with a positive business impact. Possess competent office work knowledge of front-end systems and equipment. Possess competent computer skills. Possess demonstrated skills in meeting and exceeding customer service expectations - demonstrate good organizational skills. High standard of integrity and reliability.
