Patient Relations Representative (Part-Time)

Patient Care Coordinator Under direct supervision, responsible for interfacing with patient, patients' family, and hospital staff to ensure quality care and an excellent patient experience. Work Hours: This is a part-time role working 10 hours per week. Responsibilities Serves as a liaison between the employer, patient, and patients' relatives. Communicates patients' problems, questions, complaints and concerns to appropriate staff members. Collects information from incoming patients regarding services needed, insurance coverage, or financial status. Explains procedures and policies and refers patient for proper services as required. Establishes rapport with staff and assists in the preparation of reports regarding any incidents that could result in legal action if not resolved. Educates staff on humanizing patients' treatment and/or confinement. Assists in completion of admissions or insurance forms. Contacts insurance providers to verify coverage and obtain authorization for service. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications A solid customer service acumen and interpersonal skills to effectively work with both internal and external customers and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner. Knowledge of computer systems, software applications, and automated systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA. Detail oriented and strong multitasking and organizational skills.
