POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Pharmacy Manager DEPARTMENT: Pharmacy REPORTS TO: Pharmacy Director FLSA STATUS: Exempt CREATED DATE: 4/15/10 REVISION DATES: 05/31/19 POSITION SUMMARY The Pharmacy Manager is a working supervisor, providing professional pharmacy services to CCHS patients in addition to supervising the general operations of the Pharmacy Department. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDelegates to pharmacy staff members the filling of prescriptions and administrative tasks, and then supervises their completion and accuracy. Counsels patients and maintains computerized confidential patient records of drug therapies to prevent harmful drug interaction. Answers patients' questions and provides information on medications and health. Manages cash, maintains financial records, and maintains and reports staff payroll information. Serves as liaison between patients and medical providers in order to catch and prevent prescription errors. Maintains inventory of supplies and places orders, as appropriate. Ensures the Pharmacy meets and maintains federal and state requirements and regulations. Performs other duties, as required. Job Title Number of Incumbents Pharmacy Technicians Pharmacy Cashiers TOTAL INCUMBENTS 3 - 4 POSITION REQUIREMENTSEducation: Degree from School of Pharmacy Experience: Minimum of three years working in a community retail pharmacy. Licenses or Certifications: Doctor of Pharmacy, Tennessee pharmacy license, BLS Mental Requirements Level 1 - Requires some concentration and normal attention. Generally, once the job is learned, the tasks can be performed more or less automatically. Level 2 - Requires high periods of concentration intermittently and normal attention. Generally, even once the job is learned, tasks will require normal attention to deal with recurring variables. X Level 3 - Requires a high level of concentration and high level of attention intermittently. Generally, the approach to tasks may be consistent, but the number of steps required and/or the number of variables involved creates the possibility of errors unless the incumbent pays close attention.
