SUMMARY: The Production Lead routinely assists the manager as needed, motivates and inspires the team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication and demonstrates flexibility. Approves tools for operators, helps maintain overall shift productivity and quality standards. Responsible for overseeing complex printing jobs, including "make-ready" for each job, working from copy card specifications, change plates, cylinders and die changes on label presses. Additionally, the production lead will be responsible for performing routine machine maintenance, maintaining quality standards to facilitate quick turn times and achieve production goals. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Accurately complete all production paperwork as required daily. Perform production quality audits. Report any unsafe condition(s), injury, or accident immediately to immediate Manager or other member of Management Provide technical and procedural assistance to the production floor. Coordinate assignments of packers and temporary employees. Approve work and make production related decisions. Responsible for opening and closing the building as needed and preparing any equipment in advance of production start-up. Utilize ERP (Oracle) and MES in support of the production floor. Produce carton and core labels as needed. Assist in training new operators. Run all press lines, pre-converting, and post-converting processes as needed. May be responsible for planning and scheduling. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Education And/Or Experience: Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or three to five years related flexographic press experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Mark Andy P series experience preferred. Other Skills And Abilities: Ability to perform basic math functions and use a ruler is a must. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English in order to communicate effectively with co-workers, and to follow instructions. The ability to focus on objects, have good vision and be able to differentiate colors as determined by color blindness testing. Strong mechanical aptitude needed. Good mechanical aptitude. Superior trouble shooting skills. For example, if you defer 5% of your pay into the 401(k) Plan, SATO will make a 4% matching contribution.
