Substitute Van Driver

Job Summary Substitute Van Drivers are needed on an on-call basis to assist with daily transportation when staff drivers are unavailable. Under the direction of the Coordinator of Transportation, a substitute Van Driver drives a district van designed to carry up to 9 passengers to transport students over specified routes, by performing the following duties: - Drives an assigned route on a daily basis to safely transport students to and from school, as scheduled by the Lead Bus Driver. - Performs general mechanical inspection of van daily prior to driving. - Picks up and discharges students, controlling the loading and unloading to ensure safety of passengers. Physically assists students with special needs, as needed. - Maintains proper discipline of students, following district policies and making necessary reports to the Lead Bus Driver. - Reports needed van maintenance and repairs to District Mechanic. - Collect and deliver mail/items to main office at designated site - Performs other related duties as required Requirements / QualificationsComments and Other Information Offer of Employment will be contingent on the following: - Negative TB Test - Successful DOJ fingerprint/screening - Physical Test - Negative Drug Screen
