Please apply or call one of us to learn moreFor further inquiries regarding the following opportunity, please contact our Talent Specialist: Meghna at 224 369 4230Title: Mechanical Engineer III Location: On-site at Client, NYDuration: 12 Months with potential to extendDescription: Travel Requirements: Domestic and international travel up to 25% to vendor or plant sites Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 40 hours with overtime as required Immigration Status: Must be eligible to work in the US for minimum of 18 months Preferred Time zone: ESTSCOPE OF POSITION: A senior mechanical design engineer responsible for providing detailed mechanical designs of handling and process equipment. Responsible for all aspects of the design, build and debug of equipment including vendor management. Hands-on mechanical support for the installation, start-up and debug glass manufacturing process equipment. This includes working with a multi-functional team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.) Involves the application of mechanical principles encompassed in mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design used for the design, production, operation, and use machinery of all types. REQUIREMENTS: 10+ years of mechanical equipment design experience Proficient with SolidWorks Competent with structural FEA analysis Experience with design, install, start-up and debug of robust mechanical equipment suitable for the manufacturing environment. Ability to effectively manage mechanical and electrical trades executing equipment install and debug. Knowledge of machine guarding and safety practices and standards (OSHA, etc.) Good written and oral communication skills Ability to collaborate and work with diverse teams (skills, gender, culture, race, etc.) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with internal project team to understand design requirements Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions Responsible for installation and debug at factory site Provide hands on input and insight into equipment installation and troubleshooting Verify equipment build and layout against drawings Coordinate installation plan with safety and plant receivers Confer with client engineers and vendors to resolve equipment install or build discrepancies. Have to work with the project manager directly Support and install the machine, assembling the machine parts Involved in mechanical design and drafting Minimum 6+ years of experience in mechanical design Good in Automation design or shipbuilding, aerospace, and manufacturing environments Bachelor's degree or minimum 10+ years of experienc Required Skills Solid works Process equipment design Preferred Skills No International travel Domestic travel very limited TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Potential travel of 25% Travel to a supplier or vendor may be required for equipment check-out before shipment. WORK SCHEDULE: Typical 40 hours per week. May require working weekends/holidays or longer days to support schedule.
