Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work night shifts with every other weekend schedule • 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio • Float to like units as needed • Possible charge nurse duties as needed • 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals policy • Care for adult and geriatric patient populations • 30-bed medical surgical unit • Regular medical surgical patients with various diagnoses • Must have 1 year of nursing experience • Previous charge experience preferred • Level II trauma experience preferred • Travel experience preferred • Alabama nursing license required • Current BLS via AHA certification required • Fit test required • NIHSS certification preferred • Skills required: IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, blood product administration, peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, surgical drains, nasal cannula and oxygen administration • Must adhere to call-in policy • Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed • Schedules cannot be adjusted once contract is confirmed • No accommodation for other per diem schedules or contracts Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients.
