Job Title: Engineer II, Maintenance Location: Monroe, NC Job Type: Full Time/ Permanent Job Description: As an Engineer II, Maintenance, you will be responsible for working with maintenance & production and assisting with projects, major maintenance, managing outages & shutdowns. This role is also involved with research, design and assessment of new equipment, tools, processes and standards in the areas of safety, people, quality, cost and responsiveness for both maintenance and production. Other Responsibilities: Research new equipment, tools, and processes, assess compatibility with current systems. Manage multiple projects within the maintenance organization related to planned outages, major maintenance, shutdowns or miscellaneous projects. Design equipment, processes, and standards for both maintenance and production. Lead troubleshooting events and manage completion of repairs from those events. Develop KCC (control standards) for improvements in efficiency, reliability, quality, and safety. Conduct audits, benchmarking studies and research within external machine shops, rebuild shops, and OEM's for continuous improvement. Manage the Preventive Maintenance (PM) process which includes creation of new PM's, evaluation of existing PM's to determine effectiveness and ensure thorough completion of PM's in designated timeframes. Internal/external technical contact for various processes including plasma arc melting (PAM) and vacuum arc remelting (VAR). Provide support for raw materials compacting, bulk welding, primary and final melting operations. Develop and maintain technical expertise in melting processes of Ti (Std/HCN/Eli) base superalloys. Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance personnel to develop improvements to manufacturing processes and standards that enhance safety in the workplace, equipment performance, and product quality. Plan, execute and manage product/process continuous improvement programs that support several value streams using Plan-Do-Check-Act approach. Lead or participate in team-based continuous improvement activities including risk assessments (RAA), problem solving reports (PSR), process audits, and standard work. Support internal/external customers by analyzing process data, chemistry data, and non-destructive testing data. Coordinate with Product Engineering and R&D in the development, evaluation, and standardization of new products and processes. Direct product line responsibility as opportunities arise including ingot finished goods Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field OR 4 years of Mechanical Design experience. 3 years of Mechanical Design Experience in a Manufacturing Environment. Preferred Qualifications: Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies. Six Sigma Black/Green Belt or related certification. Statistical data analysis using JMP, Mini-Tab, or related software. AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience. PLC troubleshooting skills. Maximo or other CMMS experience. Skills and Certification are required: PLC Controls SolidWorks Design
