Doctor of Medicine | Hematology and Oncology Location: Richmond, VA Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology Richmond, VA Join a Leading Oncology Team as a Locum Hematology-Oncology Physician in Richmond, VA Are you a dedicated Hematology-Oncology physician seeking a fulfilling locum opportunity? Bon Secours Cancer Institute at St. Marys Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Locum Medical Oncologist to provide exceptional care in a dynamic inpatient and outpatient setting. Play a vital role in advancing patient care while enjoying a flexible schedule in a reputable healthcare environment. In this role, you will oversee patient management, including supervising nurse practitioners, participate in research studies, and provide call coverage to ensure seamless patient care. This position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in adult oncology and hematology care, supporting a dedicated team of physicians in a collaborative setting. Coverage is needed starting February 19, 2026, with weekly M-F commitments throughout April, primarily focusing on inpatient services with some outpatient duties. Required Skills: Medical degree (MD/DO) with board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology Active medical license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain one Proven experience in adult oncology and hematology care Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills Ability to oversee and collaborate with nurse practitioners Willingness to participate in research studies and clinical trials Excellent communication and documentation skills, proficient with EPIC EMR Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with inpatient and outpatient oncology settings Familiarity with research enrollment procedures Additional certifications in oncology or advanced practice roles Experience working within a hospital-based environment Preferred Education and Experience: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution Completion of a Hematology-Oncology fellowship Minimum of 2 years of post-training clinical experience in oncology Other Requirements: Availability to cover scheduled dates in April 2026 Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia medical license Ability to provide inpatient and outpatient care as needed Willingness to work with EPIC electronic health records This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in a supportive environment, earn competitive compensation, and contribute to impactful patient care.
