Director of Progressive Care (PCU) Location: Fort Worth, Texas Compensation: $100,000 - $145,000 (based on experience) Sign-On Bonus: Case by Case Relocation: Case by Case She Recruits is seeking an accomplished Director of Progressive Care to provide strategic and operational leadership for a high-acuity PCU department within a leading acute care hospital. This role requires a strong clinical foundation, proven leadership experience, and the ability to optimize patient care delivery, staffing, and departmental performance in a fast-paced environment. Position Overview Reporting to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of PCU holds 24-hour responsibility for the operational, clinical, and financial management of the Progressive Care unit. This leader is accountable for cultivating a collaborative culture, ensuring patient safety, and aligning departmental goals with overall hospital strategy. The role requires hands-on engagement, strong communication skills, and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities • Oversee daily operations of the PCU, ensuring high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for nursing staff • Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, and resource utilization • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve throughput, outcomes, and patient satisfaction • Monitor performance metrics and implement process improvement initiatives • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, nursing standards, and the Nurse Practice Act • Support budget planning, cost management, and effective allocation of resources • Maintain a strong presence on the unit to support staff, patient needs, and clinical operations Required Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of recent acute-care PCU leadership experience • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred • Current RN license in Texas or a Compact State • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
