Director of Development

Fundraising & Donor DevelopmentBuild, manage, and grow a portfolio of individual donors, with an emphasis on major gifts.Cultivate and maintain strong donor relationships through consistent outreach, meetings, and stewardship.Partner closely with the Executive Director to identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors.Monitor donor engagement, giving trends, and retention strategies.Campaigns & EventsLead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns aligned with organizational growth goals.Support and execute fundraising events, including donor cultivation events and community engagement opportunities.Participate in evening and weekend events as needed.Membership & Donor SystemsOversee membership tiers, including tracking benefits and ensuring timely fulfillment of donor perks.Maintain accurate donor records and reporting within Bloomerang.Utilize Constant Contact and Microsoft 365 for donor communication and tracking.Ensure data integrity across all fundraising systems.Leadership & CollaborationSupervise and support the Community Engagement Coordinator.Collaborate with the Executive Director on development strategy and organizational growth initiatives.Support engagement with the Board of Directors and fundraising committeeContribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission alignment.Skills and QualificationsMinimum 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with demonstrated success in major gifts and events.Strong relationship-building and donor stewardship skills.Ability to work both strategically and in a highly hands-on capacity.Experience with donor management systems preferred (Bloomerang, Constant Contact, Microsoft 365).Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing organization.Lived experience with trafficking, exploitation, or similar challenges is preferred.Work Environment & RequirementsHybrid work environment with flexibility; primary operations based in Escondido.Must have access to a personal computer for remote or mobile work.Background check required prior to employment.Mileage reimbursement is not provided at this time, but travel may be needed to and from events. recblid 7qe3olp1fggol1ze5f0obfk7svrftr
