Mechanical Assembler 1st Shift Location: Buffalo Grove, IL Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM Wabtec is hiring a Mechanical Assembler to join our Bus Solutions manufacturing team in Buffalo Grove, IL. This role is ideal for candidates with mechanical aptitude who are eager to grow their careers in a stable, safety-focused manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform mechanical assembly of hydraulic and electromechanical lifts and ramps at various stages, including final assembly. Assemble, rework, and inspect components using blueprints, schematics, wiring lists, and written instructions. Install and test moving parts such as shafts, levers, and bearings to ensure proper function. Operate machines and automatic tools; inspect and test completed assemblies. Identify and report quality or process issues to supervisors. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Support inspection, rework, and other production-related tasks as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred. 12 years of mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under general supervision. Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and performing repetitive physical tasks.
