A Day in the Life The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) administers Physical Therapy services in the Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center (KCC) in accordance with all applicable standards and regulations to ensure the highest level of resident care. Working collaboratively with the Physical Therapist, you'll provide treatment and support for pediatric and young adult residents with complex medical needs, helping them achieve improved mobility, comfort, and quality of life. Schedule: PRN/Flexible around resident schedules, typically between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.Key Responsibilities Provide Physical Therapy treatments to both pediatric and young adult residents according to physician orders and individualized plans of care Collaborate with the Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Wheelchair/Adaptive Equipment teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care Support on-site and off-site clinics and medical appointments for orthopedic and mobility needs (e.g., baclofen pumps, x-rays, equipment updates) Complete accurate daily documentation and billing in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and maintain compliance with infection control and facility standards Participate in ongoing training, assist with staff and student orientation, and help manage therapeutic equipment and orthotic devices Skills and Qualifications Associate's Degree with completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required) Current Kentucky PTA license and Board Certification (required) Experience in Physical Therapy with pediatric and/or young adult populations required; experience with medical complexities, orthopedics, positioning, and aquatic therapy preferred Experience with wheelchairs and orthotic devices strongly preferred Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a commitment to compassionate, customer-focused care Who We Are Join Home of the Innocents, a 145-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and families in our community.
