Human Resources Assistant Provides support to the Human Resources Department by managing front-end processing of new hires including pre-employment meetings, collection of pre-employment requirements, background check completion and creation of personnel files. Provides internal customer service to employees for general inquiries and HRIS account support. Assists with all Human Resources Department tasks and projects as assigned. Meets with selected candidates to complete pre-employment paperwork, administer pre-employment drug testing and process criminal background check paperwork. Completes and tracks professional and personal reference checks for all new hires. Requests and verifies proof of education, employment verification, NYS Driver's License and other designated requirements. Ensure all documentation relative to position requirements is in order prior to new employee orientation and/or within introductory period; including tuberculosis screening where applicable. Completes all background screening processes as outlined for the position including but not limited to EPS Staff Check; SEL; MHL; ESS or CBC fingerprint registration. Manages all background check results by entering into HRIS system and filing; notifies Director of Human Resources when adverse results received. Manages completion and filing of I-9 forms. Prepare new employee personnel folders for new employee orientation. Manages employee fuel card assignments. Maintains and prepares current materials for employees attending new employee orientation. Creates and issues Agency's photo ID cards for employees. Maintains an understanding of recruiting, hiring and employee relation policy and processes to assist the HR Department as needed. Completes wage/employment verification and legal requests for information regarding employees. Cover for front receptionist of 180 Oak Street for breaks, meal periods or unexpected absences. Manages the employee recognition program "Living the Mission". Processes Anniversary Award letters based on department procedures. Manages the HR File Rooms. Maintaining personnel information and records ensuring confidentiality; archiving files and relevant documentation based on department procedures. Maintaining I-9 documentation; archiving terminated records based on department procedures. Maintaining paper applications and interview packets for candidates not selected for employment. In coordination with Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Manager, processes termination of employee records in appropriate systems; sends out end of employment information. Assists the Human Resources Department with all general functions as assigned. Community Services for Every1 has supported the people of our community for over 30 years.
