Position Type: Recreation Date Posted: 1/15/2026 Location: Lake Bluff Recreation Center Date Available: 06/01/2026 The Lake Bluff Park District is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.SUMMARY: The Camp Services Manager is responsible for co-leading the operations of the Lake Bluff Park District Summer Camps. We offer a variety of camps for children preschool ages 3 to 5 and entering school grades K - 8th including Day Camp, Teen Travelers, Athletic Camp, Mighty Sprouts and Camp Kick-A-Howl. • Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, schedules and evaluates all counselors • Oversee the day to day operations of camp • Maintain Inventory of equipment and supplies assigned to your camp • Communication with parents • Hold weekly staff meetings • Begin 30 minutes prior to the start of camp and stay 30 minutes after the end of camp QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum 1-2 years related experience required in camp management with emphasis on providing excellent guest service • Strong leadership and communication skills • Working knowledge of a camp program and activities • Previous experience with scheduling and planning age-appropriate activities/games • First Aid/CPR/AED certification • Valid Illinois Drivers License • Supervisory experience preferred • High School education or equivalent HOURS AND PAY: Hours will vary by camp but general work hours are 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday, mid June through mid August. Must be available prior to camp start for recruitment, hiring and camp planning. Estimated start date is Mid May. Managers are expected to be available during the 9 week duration of camp. Pay rate is $16.00+ depending on qualifications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Coordinate bus transportation • Plan and implement a variety of recreational activities • Inventory all supplies/equipment available for camps • Direct Team Leaders to insure all supplies and equipment are available • Follow up on all accident and incident reports • Manage and supervise camp field trips • Oversee scheduling and hours of counselors • Serve as the main contact to camp staff, parents, camp coordinator and aquatic staff • Communicate regularly with the supervisor regarding the camp operation • Cooperate with with managers from all camps • Serve as a resource person to camp staff • Attend all planned camp special events and staff outings • Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules • Supports & exhibits the established organizational values • Frequently communicate with parents MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: • Coordinate assistance as needed from the Superintendent. • Coordinate assistance as needed from Facility Maintenance for programs. • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
