Position Summary: The Field Operations Inspector (Cast in Place Concrete) represents DeSimone in the field as a special inspector of cast in place concrete. They are full-time on-site performing inspections, ensuring compliance with contract documents, approved shop drawings and submittals. This position involves writing detailed reports of each inspection, producing an Open Item list and maintaining clear communication with all relevant parties. Competencies: Role Specific Responsibilities and Skills: Performs on-site inspections which can include physically strenuous tasks such as climbing ladders and supported scaffolds, and riding suspended scaffolds Produces daily inspection reports of project and uploads in job folder including pictures. Maintains an Open Item list and monitors their resolution. Reads, understands, and utilizes architectural, structural, shop drawings and coordinated drawings effectively and accurately. Checks for compliance with local laws, ordinances, and building Communicates with all parties on the site, including client, general contractor and subcontractors. Provides regular updates to the Project Manager on the progression of work, status, scheduling, and timeline. Interfaces directly with contractors as appropriate and/ or Trains teammates for inspections as needed. Reviews inspection reports and provide comments internally for updates before Takes responsibility for maintaining and renewing required certifications. Takes responsibility for their PPE, ensuring it is taken to site daily, maintained and updated as required. Complete timesheets daily and submits weekly. Represents DeSimone and presents themselves in a positive and professional manner. Communications Skills: Effectively communicates, both verbally and written, to ensure clear and efficient interactions with all parties. Writes accurate and clear correspondence and reports for project inclusion. Understands of the importance of building the client and business relationship. Interactions with clients are professional and respectful. Provides accurate and valuable input to teammates and management to maintain and cultivate client relationships. Provides information and feedback, both positive and negative, to teammates and clients in a person-centric, fact-based, professional manner. Business Development and Revenue Generation: Works with scope items and accurately charges own labor to proper project numbers. Teamwork and Leadership: Understands and complies with the company values and culture code. Demonstrates commitment to project goals and applies extra effort when necessary. Maintains a positive, can-do attitude and constructive approach to projects and teamwork. Actively contributes in a positive manner to the internal office and project teams. Fosters a positive and inclusive organizational culture, emphasizing teamwork, accountability and professional development. Receives training, guidance and direction in a positive manner. Asks questions to ensure understanding. Takes responsibility for own personal and professional development, seeking methods to enhance skills and knowledge. Internal Operations: Complies with business requirements such as completion of timesheets, correct utilization of project codes, completion of required training, etc. Complies with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, internally and on client Seeks guidance from teammates or management where Works with other teams, including Shared Services, to ensure business goals and objectives are Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include walking, climbing ladders and supported scaffolds, riding suspended scaffolds, sitting, and typing. Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Availability on the weekends may be required based on project schedules or client needs. Travel: From home to project and construction sites. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1 and ACI or ICC Concrete Construction Special Inspector Strong knowledge and special inspection experience in reinforcement layout and concrete placement with a minimum of 5 years experience. 30-hour OSHA Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of detailed inspection reports including pictures and concise but detailed shop and site inspection reports. Ability to compose sketches/drawings in BlueBeam while communicating effectively through graphic means. Ability to participate in in-person and virtual meetings with the design team, Owner, Construction Manager and Subcontractors. Ability to travel to remote job sites and in tri-state area, not accessible by public Must be able to climb ladders, ride suspended scaffolds, and work at great Ability to effectively read, understand, and utilize architectural, structural, shop drawings and coordinated Ability to produce inspection reports and work closely with the Field Operation Manager and Project Manager to ensure timeliness of project completion. Preferred Qualifications & Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction, or related Suspended scaffold user certification (minimum 16 hours). Rope Access Certification by SPRAT or IRATA NJ Special Inspection Certificate. NYC Site Safety Training. All other special inspection certification preferred (ICC etc). This position is classified as hourly, non-exempt. The hiring salary range for this role is anticipated to be XXX dependent upon experience and qualifications. We understand that there may be rare and exceptional circumstances where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position.
