Buyer

Buyer Position As a Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement process, including processing purchasing requisitions from the managers in the field and turning those requisitions into purchase orders with the various suppliers worldwide. Responsibilities include creating purchase order tracking systems, negotiating with suppliers, coordinating logistics, and finding alternative vendors. The position is based in Germantown, MD. Your work at Maxtena will include: Vendor management including logistics and procurement schedules Negotiation of purchasing prices & terms Inventory management Maintaining proper inventory levels of parts and components used daily Managing logistics & communication with worldwide suppliers Ensuring Maxtena product shipments are executed and fulfilled Ensuring appropriate inventory levels and cut-off Ensuring vendors/suppliers satisfy and fulfill Maxtena's needs and agreements, including maintenance of the vendor selection criteria Identifying new suppliers & implementing new supplier criteria Regular vendors & partners visits Optimizing inventory costs Improve the quality of cost products Recommending and implementing vendor improvement plans Monitoring specific supply chain-based performance including Perfect Order Percentage, Order Defect Rate, On-Time Shipping Rate, Late Shipment Rate, Valid Tracking Rate, Customer Service Satisfaction, and Dissatisfaction Rates Monitoring inventory including Turnover, Cycle Time, Item Fill Rate, Levels, and Accuracy Identifying, managing, forecasting, and regularly reporting critical/key component sourcing, supplier stock, vendor stock and safety stock levels Proactively informing and reporting to the management team on shipment fulfillment and inventory Collaborating with appropriate team members to fulfill the company's goals Optimizing Metrics & Standard Operating Procedures Maintaining metrics, reports & other relevant documentation Ideal candidate: Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Legal Permanent Resident Bachelor's Degree (Business, Technical, or Science field preferably) 3 + years of experience in wireless technology or similar industry Ability to travel internationally Strong negotiation skills Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Impeccable attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work well in a team environment Ability to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment Strong industry knowledge with the ability to understand and forecast market trends along with having close ties to suppliers is a plus Perks of working at Maxtena: Developing innovative, meaningful products from scratch A dynamic, innovative, and productive workplace Cutting-edge technology & high-tech lab Continuous career growth opportunities Competitive compensation package Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance Tuition Reimbursement Paid Parental Leave 401K match Flextime Fun & games events Coffee, sweets, & much more...
