Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • 2 years of nursing experience required • Trauma Level I experience required • Must be flexible with weekend requirements - required to work 50% of weekends during contract • Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends • 36 hours of orientation provided • Must be willing to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within hospital or affiliate hospitals • Refusal to float may result in contract termination • May be required to precept students or have students shadow during assignment • Charge coverage responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs with training provided • Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS preferred • Required skills: Cardiac PCU, drips, post cath lab procedures, IV starts, sheath pulls • Preferred skills: Conscious sedation and telemetry • Must be comfortable with cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac angiogram care, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care • Experience with central line care/management, titrating cardiac drips, and surgical drains required • Call-in policy: Must make up missed shifts during pay period or shifts will be added to end of contract • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Indiana residents not accepted for this position • First time travelers accepted Facility: This major academic medical center operates as a Level I trauma facility and teaching hospital. The progressive care unit specializes in cardiovascular care, monitoring patients with complex cardiac conditions including congestive heart failure, post-myocardial infarction, cardiac arrhythmias, and various cardiovascular diagnoses. The 28-bed unit maintains a daily census of 27 patients and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
