Additive Manufacturing Technician Firehawk Aerospace is a leading propulsion-focused aerospace and defense company located in Addison, TX. Position details: We are seeking a detail-oriented Additive Manufacturing Technician to join our production team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end 3D printing processfrom digital file preparation and machine setup to advanced post-processing and quality assurance. In 2026, as we scale our industrial AM operations, you will also play a key role in monitoring automated workflows and ensuring part traceability. Responsibilities Machine Operation & Maintenance: Setup, calibrate, and operate consumer and industrial 3D printers (e.g. FDM, or SLA). Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot hardware issues to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Production Preparation: Review CAD models and utilize slicing software (e.g., Cura, F3Slicer, Bambu Labs etc.) to optimize print orientation support generation and print quality. Material Management: Properly handle, manage, and store polymers. Loading, and managing the lifecycle of an array of materials in pellet and filament formats. Post-Processing: Perform support removal and secondary finishing operations such as sanding, deburring, and inspection. Quality & Data Integrity: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using tools like calipers and micrometers. Maintain accurate production records to support digital traceability requirements. Basic Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Additive Manufacturing or Engineering Technology preferred. Experience: 13+ years of hands-on experience in a 3D printing or manufacturing environment. Technical Skills: Proficiency with CAD software and a strong mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is a plus. Modern Competencies: Familiarity with digital compliance procedures, controlling digital files, ITAR based information security training is a plus. Soft Skills: High attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced R&D or production environment. ITAR Requirements: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. Security Clearance: May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
