Maintenance Technician

Must be willing to infrequently help out at other nearby facilities. This role is on-call every third week for time-sensitive maintenance issues, i.e., overflowing toilets, leaking pipes, etc. This role is always on-call for snow preparation, removal, and other unusual emergencies (e.g., flooding due to inclement weather). Shift: M-F 9am-5pm Pay: This job has a starting rate of $17 per hour. Lunches are paid, and food is provided! Deliverables/Principal Results Expected: Provide safe and secure working/living spaces for the facility. Regular maintenance duties, such as general carpentry & building repair, painting, basic electrical & plumbing, grounds work, and light janitorial work. Under general supervision, perform semi-skilled and skilled building maintenance work of average difficulty. Perform a variety of tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical repair work. May require supervision for certain job assignments. Perform a variety of carpentry tasks in the maintenance of buildings; install and repair electrical outlets (if qualified), fans, and lighting fixtures. Install and repair plumbing fixtures, water, and drainage lines. Paint and decorate interiors and exteriors of buildings. Make repairs and adjustments to facility laundry and equipment. Operate and utilize a wide variety of tools and equipment such as assorted hand tools, table saws, hand drills, and pipe cutters; may operate a pick-up/maintenance vehicle in the performance of the job. May keep simple records and make routine reports such as time expended and materials used. Maintain a risk-free facility environment. May be assigned a helper to assist in work. Perform other maintenance-related work as required. Education, Experience: General Building Maintenance, Carpentry, Plumbing, Basic Electrical, HVAC Maintenance experience preferred.
